Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre 2015

A Message from the Founder, Steve Andrews

Hi Fellow Black Dog Rider,

Black Dog Ride Founder Steve AndrewsFollowing the break from the annual Red Centre Ride for the Black Dog Ride around Australia, in 2015 we are again heading back to the red heart of our amazing country.

Due to rider feedback, for the past 2 years I've been considering making the truly iconic Uluru (Ayers Rock) our end destination. Out of loyalty to the wonderful team at Heavitree Gap Outback Lodge in Alice Springs and a concern that it would be more expensive, I have baulked at making the move.

Following recent advice from Heavitree that the property is being closed for redevelopment, and subsequent discussions with Voyages Ayers Rock who run all of the accommodation and facilities at Yulara, we made the decision that the 2015 Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre will head to the "Rock".

There is no question that due to its remoteness and uniqueness, it is going to cost us more than in previous years to stay in the Red Centre and conduct our special functions. We've worked with Voyages Ayers Rock to put together what we believe is a fabulous package which will give you the quintessential Red Centre experience.

Due to the fact that we'll be visiting during the high tourist season we have had to make our bookings well in advance and pay substantial deposits to secure Black Dog Ride accommodation options and functions. This has resulted in us having to include the cost of the fabulous Friday and Saturday night functions in your registration.

This is going to be a very special ride to a very special part of Australia, I hope you will join me for this truly unique Black Dog Ride experience.
